Guinea party leader calls for militants' release
The Vice-President of the Union for the Democratic Forces of Guinea (UFDG) party in Guinea, who backs presidential candidate Cellou Dalein Diallo, said his party would call for a 'ghost town' day in Conakry on Monday if the militants arrested during outbursts of violence earlier this month were not released. Guinea halted its presidential run-off election planned for the weekend, and calls multiplied for a swift end to a transition period marred by violence.
