Cherokee Heritage Center Theater
At the Park Hill Cherokee Heritage Centers beautiful outdoor amphitheatre, the history and hardships of the Cherokee tribe come to life each summer. After a long absence, the performance component of the Center was revived in 2001, with The Trail, a play that dramatized the journey that the Cherokee made out of Georgia. The Trail ran for four seasons, and the theater is now in its third season of Under the Cherokee Moon, a series of performances that tell different threads of the Cherokee story. The performances at the Cherokee Heritage Center, such as Under the Cherokee Moon, feature large casts of actors, dancers and singers in full costume. The plays allow all generations to experience the events that make up who the Cherokee are today. For more, visit TravelOK.com. Originally aired July 10, 2001. Running time: 9:46
