Druskininkai is situated in the south of Lithuania, within approximately 128 km from the capital of Lithuania Vilnius. The mineral water was found in the environs of Druskininkai in the XVIII century, whereas the mineral mud with its therapeutic qualities, which equates with the mud of the best therapeutic resorts of Europe, was found later.
