NY Yankees @ Kansas City Royals MLB Preview
Ian Kennedey was rocked in his first start against Tampa Bay at Yankee Stadium allowing 6 runs, 4 hits and 4 bases on balls against the Rays. The 23 year old out of USC is eager to get the ball back and make amends for his poor outing but must improve on his accuracy as only 32 of his 70 pitches were thrown for strikes. When handicapping the Kansas City Royals over the years you often got them at fat underdog prices and a few good starting pitchers and plenty of runs from the offense but the Royals bullpen absolutely stunk up Major League Baseball. So far a good start of the season as KC’s bullpen ERA was a trickle over 1 through Sunday's action allowing opposing batters to hit just .145 against them. Zach Greinke had a good start to open up his season limiting the Tigers to just 1 run and 6 hits over 7 innings. Greinke's ERA during night games was almost 2 runs lower than in day games. Greinke showed good velocity and movement in his start versus Detroit and as one MLB scout put it Greinke has the arm of an All Star. We like the Royals and the price here. Let's take KC @ +135.
