Mark E. Smith
Mark E. Smith apologizes for English TV. In this special Mancunian edition of Soft Focus Ian sits down with Mark E. Smith, singer and only continuous member of the Fall, to talk about his role in foreseeing Manchester’s biggest brush with terrorism to date and his waning interest in soccer. Mark discusses the influence of hating Neil Young and the Eagles on the formation of the group and the universal repugnance of Gene Simmons. When Ian strikes a little close to home he has the questions briefly turned back around on him. Don’t know whether it’s something about Ian or the people he picks, but it seems like this keeps happening. Anyways, considering the fate of countless interviewers before him, we think Ian got off pretty well.
