Quake 3 - playing with bots
This is just a short game of myself playing with bots in Quake 3. Quake 3 Arena was developed by id Software and released on December 2, 1999 (holy crap, it's been that long?!!). It differs from the previous Quake games (Q1 & Q2) in that emphasis was put towards multi-player. Quake 3 does offer single-player but in the sense of a dumb downed off-line multi-player experience. Quake 3 Arena runs off the Quake 3 Arena engine which is where id Software makes most of their money from through licensing their engines to other companies. Curved corners are prevalent throughout the game and was one of the new technologies the Quake 3 Arena engine introduced. There have been several ports of Quake 3 Arena other than Windows: Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Mac OS and Linux. The Dreamcast port was rated one of the best PC to console ports of its time as both graphics and frame rates did not suffer compared to other ports. (more...)
