From the University of Maryland, an interview with Francis Fukuyama, the Bernard L. Schwartz Professor of International Political Economy at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University and director of its International Development program. From 2001-2005, Fukuyama was a member of the President’s Council on Bioethics. He is the author of numerous books, including “The End of History and the Last Man,” which was awarded the Los Angeles Times’ Book Critics Award, “The Great Disruption: Human Nature and the Reconstitution of Social Order,” “Our Posthuman Future: Consequences of the Biotechnology Revolution,” and, most recently, “America at the Crossroads: Democracy, Power, and the Neoconservative Legacy.” He is also the chairman of the editorial board of a new magazine, The American Interest.
