立法會一個委員會討論對八達通發卡機構的監管，多名議員批評，公司的前後講法不一，又質疑港鐵作為八達通公司的大股東，沒有介入調查。 八達通公司承認，對事件處理得不好，向受影響的市民致歉，承諾10星期內完成調查報告。
