Scrums Industry Minister Tony Clement announced that the government would not accept BHP Billiton’s takeover bid for Saskatchewan’s PotashCorp. The final decision will be made in 30 days, giving BHP time to alter its bid. Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff, Liberal Deputy Leader Ralph Goodale, NDP Leader Jack Layton and Saskatchewan NDP Leader Dwain Lingenfelter reacted to the government’s decision.  B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell announced today that he would be stepping down. Several MPs from that province (Stockwell Day, Keith Martin, Joyce Murray, Libby Davies and Peter Julian) spoke to reporters about Campbell’s announcement.
