Over 20,000 attended the eleven day festival to see cinematic works from 27 countries. Wilson, the pioneering scientist who turned his observations of ant behavior into a new discipline: sociobiology; "The Pachamama Alliance," produced by Channel G, documents a partnership with the indigenous people of the Amazon region of Ecuador, empowering them to protect the rainforest that they call home; "The Return of the American Elm," which depicts the comeback of America's most popular, urban tree following the devastating Dutch elm epidemic. EDWARD O.
