On June 2, 2011, Union Pacific #844, an Alco 4-8-4 steam locomotive built in 1944, led the "Little Rock Express" into St. Louis on its way to Little Rock, AR. The train was greeted by scores of train enthusiasts of all ages!!! The next day the train was on display at a location near downtown St. Louis. Here we get to see the train and the locomotive up close and personal. Thousands of people turned out to see it up close, despite the 90+ temperatures combined with high humidity and(of course) millions of cicadas flying around!!!! LOL I was one of the lucky ones who won a ride on the "Little Rock Express" the next day when it took me and my wife(my guest) to Gorham, Illinois. Enjoy!!!!
