Scrums Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff discussed the Liberal bill to reinstate the mandatory long-form census, which passed second reading today, and the riots that are taking place in Haiti over the preliminary presidential elections. Health critics Megan Leslie (NDP) and Ujjal Dosanjh (Liberal) spoke to reporters about the government’s decision to scrap the plan for new warning labels on cigarettes, despite having spent almost $4 million over six years. NDP Foreign Affairs critic Paul Dewar, Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe and NDP Deputy leader Thomas Mulcair discussed the election riots in Haiti.
