World Health Organization Accused of Scaremongering
(Al Jazeera English Headlines: June 4, 2010) European regulators are accusing the World Health Organization of scaremongering, saying that declaring a pandemic was an overreaction to the H1N1 virus outbreak. Naoto Kan has stepped up to replace Yukio Hatoyama as Japan’s fifth prime minister in four years. In Oman, Cyclone Phet has been downgraded to a tropical storm after thousands were evcuated from their homes. And, the US coastguard says a temporary cap over the ruptured oil well off the Gulf Coast could collect 1000 barrels a day.
