Federal Communications Commission Open Meeting
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) held an open meeting on filing electronic tariffs, the emergency alert system, and an FCC study on the effects of online technology on local media. The results of the study showed that despite the growth of media outlets in the digital era, there was nonetheless an increasing shortage of in-depth local journalism which was needed to hold government agencies, schools and businesses accountable.
