アフリカで54番目の国家となる「南スーダン共和国」誕生
アフリカで54番目の国家となる「南スーダン共和国」が、日本時間9日朝に誕生した。市民は「20年以上この時を待っていた。とてもうれしい」と話した。スーダンは、イスラム教徒を中心とする北部と、キリスト教徒などを中心とする南部との間で、20年以上にわたって内戦が続いた。2011年1月に行われた住民投票で南部の独立が決まり、9日、新国家「南スーダン」として生まれ変わった。しかし、アビエイなど中部の油田地帯は南北どちらに帰属するか決まっておらず、今後も緊張状態が続くとみられる。
