Police found the bodies of two young boys, ages three and four, in a gray Volvo that had been abandoned in a parking lot on the east side of the city at approximately 2:39 a.m. Wednesday. But Police Chief Noble Wray says this story begins several days earlier. "This is a case that began with domestic violence between the suspect and the boys' mother," said Wray. "It ended with the victims found inside a parked car early this morning." According to police, the victims' mother, a 22-year old Madison woman, had reported shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday that she had had a violent encounter with her boyfriend, David Hoem, on Monday. At that time she was not in possession of her children. Instead, the biological father, no longer with the 22-year old mother, had the two boys. Police report that around the same time the mother reported a domestic incident, David Hoem went picked up the two children from the biological father. They say this exchange, in which Hoem served as a liaison between the children’s biological parents, was not uncommon. ##
