Sculptures Will Have Dual Use
The Kansas River Expression of Soul Sculpture Trail Project uses local artists and scientists to develop public environmental art. The art sculptures will function as shelters and habitats for wildlife. The trail and sculpture garden will span about 500 yards, between Burcham Riverfront Park and Constant Park near downtown Lawrence. Marie Thompson, Soul project manager and curator, said the overriding goal of the project is to raise awareness of the Kansas River ecosystem while promoting the talents of local artists.
