Scrums Liberal Justice critic Marlene Jennings, Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe, NDP Deputy Leader Thomas Mulcair, and NDP Defence critic Jack Harris reacted to Omar Khadr`s guilty plea. Khadr pleaded guilty to all five of the charges that were against him at a U.S. military tribunal in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba earlier today. The guilty plea is part of a plea deal that will allow Khadr to apply to return to Canada after serving one more year in Guantanamo Bay. Opposition MPs Pat Martin (NDP), Geoff Regan (Liberal) and Denis Coderre (Liberal) commented on the latest developments in the controversial $9-million Parliament Hill renovation contract. The House of Commons Government Operations committee is scheduled to begin its inquiry tomorrow on the contract.
