Release Date: "Tales of the Black Freighter" zal worden uitgebracht 5 dagen nadat "Watchmen" in de bioscoop uitkomt, op 6 mei 2009 The comic-within-a-comic tells the tale of a castaway’s mental and physical deterioration and damnation as he tries to intercept a ghost freighter headed for his hometown.  The "Black Freighter" DVD will include a documentary-style film called "Under the Hood" that delves into the characters' backstories. The Watchmen movie is expected to hit DVD itself four months later, followed by an "ultimate" edition in which the two are edited together into one megamovie.
