Unexpected drop in retail sales
Retail sales on Britain’s high streets unexpectedly fell in August after strong growth earlier in the summer, fuelling fears of a slowdown in the sector. Chris Giles, economics editor, analyses the data and says it’s too early to worry about a double dip recession.
