Jazz Music Lesson 2 - Licks & Language
This is the second lesson of 5, explaining about 'Licks and Language'. Again based on a blues, hear how jazz musicians apply set phrases to outline chords. When learning a language you learn the letters and words, which move into sentences then to paragraphs. When we are talking we are effectively "improvising" by stringing together words and phrases to get our meaning across. Improvising with music is much the same thing.
