伝統の炎あかあか 須賀川・松明あかし
巨大なたいまつが夜を照らす日本三大火祭りの一つの「松明（たいまつ）あかし」が１３日、福島県須賀川市の五老山であった。 伊達政宗に敗れた須賀川城の武者たちを弔う伝統行事で約４２０年の歴史を持つ。一番大きい「大松明」は長さ約１０メートル、重さ３トン。須賀川市内を回り、到着した御神火が午後６時半ごろ、２９本の松明に次々に点火され、大きな拍手がわいた。（動画＝関田航撮影）
