Is Alhurra Really Free?
Like Voice of America radio which launched in 1942 to promote a positive image of the United States, and Radio Marti, which pipes Pro-US content into Castro’s Cuba, the newly-launched Alhurra Satellite TV seeks to persuade the Arab world that we really are the good guys. The efficacy of this $62 million project has yet to be shown, as this clip excerpted from www.linktv.com from US and Arab media demonstrates. Amid Alhurra's recent State Department audit should we consider getting a little more bang for our taxpayer buck, maybe by giving the Arab world what they'd really enjoy: Free MTV? Watch and post.
