Germany is mad for sledding. And the snows of the past few weeks have made it possible for the country to indulge this passion. In fact, the demand for sleds has outstripped supply.Sled manufacturer Sirch, located in the Allgäu region of southern Germany, is profiting from the boom in business. Its 50 or so employees are working around the clock to cope with requests for this very seasonal product. At other times of year, the company’s workers are busy making toys and furniture for children. Hagen Tober reports.
