When Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris first got together a while back to record together I saw a great deal of press on the "strangeness" of the companionship of a hard rocker like Knopfler and a folky-country girl like Harris. I figured most of them either knew nothing about either musicians career or about the basic roots of country and rock or perhaps both.
