Winnipeg North, Manitoba
On November 29th, voters in the federal riding of Winnipeg North elect a new MP to replace the NDP’s Judy Wasylycia-Leis, who left for an unsuccessful run at the Winnipeg mayor's office. The NDP are counting on Kevin Chief to hold the riding. Former Liberal MLA Kevin Lamoureux is running for the Liberals, and Julie Javier is the Conservative candidate. There are four other candidates in this by-election including, Jeff Coleman - the first Canadian to run under the European Pirate Party banner. Wasylycia-Leis won the riding with a plurality of 9,000 votes in 2008. CPAC's Ed Watson filed this report.
