The Silent Epidemic: Perspectives of High School Dropouts
Along with Karen Burke Morison and John J. DiIulio Jr., John M. Bridgeland studied the 3.5 million Americans between the ages of 16 and 25 who have dropped out of school without a high school diploma. His report, commissioned by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, uses new data collected by Peter D. Hart Research Associates to conclude that this is a solvable problem. Bridgeland, who has served as Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council and USA Freedom Corps, is currently President and CEO of Civic Enterprises. From the Series:UVA NewsMakers 2006
