The Anniversary Of D-Day
Today is June 6th which marks the 67th anniversary of the beach landing in Normandy, France during World War 2, also known as “D-Day.” It is known as one of the greatest amphibious battles ever. Strange, I always thought that crown went to Battle Toads. D-Day was a collaboration effort mainly between the United States, England and Canada with almost 200,000 troops landing on the 6th. That’s amazing, I had no idea Canada even had an army. This morning a number of survivors of D-Day met on the beach to remember the epic battle and honor the courage of the soldiers who lost their lives. They should wait until August when the weather is better. They have gone through enough tragedy on that beach.
