Girl Escapes Would-Be Rapist
Tweet The unidentified suspect, who was captured on surveillance following a 12-year-old walking home from school Thursday, may be the same man who attacked two other girls in the area in recent months.  The Gold Star Club of Manatee County is offering up to $10,000 for information leading to the suspects arrest and conviction. The pre-teen girl was able to escape her abductor after he snatched her More.. near a church Thursday. According to the Manatee Sheriff’s Office, the 12-year-old girl was grabbed from behind while walking home from school near the 5500 block of 26th St. around 4:20 p.m., close to a church parking lot. The suspect picked her up and carried her to a nearby low-hanging oak tree, where he attempted to sexually assault the victim. The girl told him that there were people in the area, and the suspect fled westbound toward 28th St. W. The other incidents connected to the suspect is a similar attack on November 29, where a man grabbed a 15-year old girl, but he ran after the girl resisted and a sexual assault against a 15-year old girl on January 31 that Bradenton Police Department is investigating. The suspect is described as a black man, 30 to 40 years old, approximately 6’0" with a thin build. He was wearing a dark hoodie with black basketball shorts.
