最近消委會接到投訴指有商人誇大保健產品的功效，使長者損失金錢及影響身體，有關講座聲稱酵素對糖尿病有幫助及送贈品，被騙的一位伯伯服用後，血糖有加沒減，需要入院留醫。 耳鼻喉專科醫生丁顯顒表示，耳垢是耳道內的分泌物，通常集中在耳道入口附近，他們會順著表皮細胞的新陳代謝而排出耳道，用棉棒、耳挖或其他硬物挖耳，會把耳垢推得更深入耳內，堵塞耳道，引起耳朵不適及影響聽力。防止耳垢阻塞的方法是不應自己亂挖耳孔，切忌用耳挖或其他硬物採耳，以免引起損傷。
