Reds say tourists are more than welcome for protest
Just two weeks ago 25 people were killed and more than 800 injured in clashes just off Khao San Road, the city’s most famous tourist street. As soon as the violence stopped, the cameras came out. This is the edge of the Red Shirts' encampment a barricade made from tyres and sharpened bamboo sticks all doused with fuel. By day it has become a tourist attraction in its own right. Visitors ignore their embassies' warnings not only to steer clear of the protests but also Bangkok itself. But the Reds say tourists are more than welcome.
