東京・立川市と昭島市にまたがる国営昭和記念公園で、園内のプールがオープンしました。オープニングセレモニーでは、震災復興の願いを込めて、メッセージと花の種が添えられた、およそ500個の風船が夏空に飛ばされました。昭和記念公園では、節電対策のため、一部の噴水広場のポンプが止められているほか、定期的にプールの水質検査が行われるなど、例年とは違う夏を迎えることになりました。
