Meningitis Overview
Meningitis is an inflammation of the coverings around the brain and spinal cord, which can be caused by a virus, bacteria or other organisms. Its symptoms can include, fever, stiff neck, nausea, vomiting or even confusion. It can be very contagious and even fatal. The only way to diagnose this disease is through a lumbar puncture, called a spinal tap.
