MV Petalouda Rescue Operations
iReport — On July 5, 2011 the Amver participating tanker Petalouda was directed by U.S. Coast Guard rescue authorities to a sailboat in distress near Key West, Fla.. The Petalouda rescued a one sailor while another sailor stayed on board. The second sailor was later rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Tahoma. Amver is a search and rescue system sponsored by the United States Coast Guard that uses commercial ships to rescue people at sea. Learn more at www.amver.com.
