Universal Studios Singapore Hollywood on a shoestring budget
On my first visit to the Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore on 24 Sep 2010, I was entranced with the Candy Trees just outside the Candylicious Store run by a brother-and-sister team. Similarly entranced was I with the animated lights and music show greeting visitors riding the escalators down to the hotel lobbies. While there, I took up Universal Studios' ‘Hollywood After Hours’ offering (Fridays and Saturdays from 7.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.). For a mere S$5, one gets to soak in the atmosphere, eat and shop to the size of one’s pocket, and watch a 5 - 10 mins fireworks display (Lake Hollywood Spectacular) at the waterfront at about 9.30 p.m. There are no rides available of course. Some of the ambient music has been deliberately replicated in parts – and so unfortunately has the accompanying noise!
