Calla - Strangler
With a claustrophobic video style reminiscent of the Cure’s "Close to Me," Calla skews their visual aesthetic toward an arty, minimalist gloom that matches their music. Weird wallpaper montages hover in the air as the band, from Brooklyn by way of Texas, drifts about spewing haunting sounds. A critics band, sure, but Calla is more than just a pose.
