《CLANNAD》原作是一款面向全年龄的以“家族”为题材的PC用Galgame，以剧情感动著称，与《Kanon》、《AIR》齐名。《电波男》作者本田透也在该著作中表示“想体验人生，就玩玩《CLANNAD》”，显示该作的确渗透了人生元素。《CLANNAD》曾移植至PS2、PSP、XBOX360等家用机平台。改编成动画和剧场版后认知度更大。
