猛禽類の新リハビリセンター
2010年9月23日 札幌円山動物園に猛禽類の野生復帰を実現するための施設がオープンしました。この施設から、世界でも例のない計画がスタートします。 ゴルフの練習場を思わせる大きなケージです。幅は40メートルあります。この中で鳥たちは自分の力で飛び、エサをとる力を蓄えます。隣には繁殖用の空間があります。落ち着いた環境のなかで、絶滅のおそれがある貴重な種の保存が進められます。
