Texas investigates possible food stamp program abuse
HOUSTON — The Texas Department of Health and Human services is investigating possible abuse of the food stamp program, after a KHOU 11 News report.   Our public records search revealed Texans are cashing in their food stamps in places like Hawaii, Alaska and New York. We took our findings to Trent Siebert, with the non-profit online news organization, Texas Watchdog. "New York blew me away. Almost $500,000 in Lonestar money in New York alone, you wonder what’s going on?" Seibert said. Stephanie Good
