Florences Restaurant, East OKC
Florences Restaurant was started when not many African-American people owned a business. At the tender ages of 19, Florence Jones Kemp was one of the first black women in OKC to own a business. Still going strong today, Florences serves soul food from fried chicken to mashed potatoes to spinach to spaghetti, and she says to try out the peach cobbler.
