McCormick Ground Ginger is a great substitute for fresh.
I love ginger, so if I don’t have fresh ginger on hand, I always make sure I have McCormick's Ground Ginger in my spice cabinet.  In most of my recipes, you can't tell the difference in flavor. The only time it makes a difference is when you need the texture of fresh ginger vs ground. Otherwise the taste is equal for most recipes.
