Homeless Being Counted In Mobile Area
Number count is needed to apply for federal grants. Why are some people living on the streets in Mobile and Baldwin Counties? More than a hundred people fanned out in the area Thursday night looking for the homeless. The search was part of what’s called the "Point in Time" count. An agency called "Housing First" organized the volunteers to get an accurate count of the homeless, so it can apply for federal grant money to help them. And the volunteers did find homeless people.
