Google is in preliminary discussions to acquire Hulu. The online video pioneer recently began meeting with potential buyers including Google (NASDAQ:GOOG), Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) "to drum up interest in a sale."A spokeswoman for Hulu declined to comment while Microsoft spokeswoman did not provide immediate comment. Google and Yahoo could not immediately be reached for comment.The Los Angeles Times noted that "Selling Hulu would authorize Hulu’s media owners to make a graceful exit from a service whose success nonetheless created friction with traditional business partners."Google has a potential upside of 37.3% based on a current price of $517.18 and an average consensus analyst price target of $710.34.
