Er ist zwar erst seit einigen Wochen Botschafter in Deutschland, kennt sein Gastland aber seit Jahren: Abdul Rahman Ashraf. Schon in den sechziger Jahren kam er als Geologe nach Deutschland, schrieb hier seine Doktorarbeit, engagierte sich später für ein freies Afghanistan.
