Riboud took his first photo at the age of 14.
The 85-year-old traveller took his first picture at 14, and still remembers. Marc Riboud, Photographer, "The first time I took a photo, it was with an American Vest Pocket Kodak camera that my father had used in World War I." Hard to resume such a wide-ranging career in just 110 images. From Communist China, where he was one of the first Europeans to visit, to war-torn Vietnam. And African nations as they won their independence. Marc Riboud has been around. But he maintains a critical eye. Marc Riboud, Photographer, “I should have had a bit of shadow, on one side or the other. To show that it was a photographer photographing and who chose the spot." A life’s work still in the making. Riboud is not ready to hang up his camera.
