Under a new law, select states will not allow traditional cigarettes to be sold. For them, the only cigarettes that can be sold must be wrapped in thin, slow-burning paper. The new cigarette will go out when the burning tobacco is not being puffed. According to the National Fire Protection Association, 700 to 900 people die each year in the US from smoking-related fires. The fire-safe cigarette will hopefully reduce these numbers.
