Sparky Got His Legs Back!
Sparky wasn’t walking so well (actually, he wasn't walking at all) after his TPLO surgery in November. It broke my heart to see him so down on his luck. He had no spirit. The ball taunted him because he couldn't even get up to go get it. I had to hide it so he could forget it. I didn't want him to hurt anymore than he had to. I had to do everything for him. When we would get to a curb, I would say, "up," and he would put one leg up, then the other, then the back legs up with one final hop. He was getting stronger. One morning, he woke up friskier than usual. His eyes were back to normal. They didn't have that old dog, off-white glaze anymore. He looked like himself. I think that was the moment he came back to me. He was Sparky again. And he was ready to take on his disability. Tha...
