Life becomes magical and loving when Gerald enters Janet’s frustrating, mundane life.  But the magic becomes madness as society destroys the pure at heart, and love is just a memory. But before the madness, there is the magic as Gerald opens his world. Janet becomes exposed to images, and circumstances that only one with a vivid imagination will ever experience. These wonderful experiences are interrelated and intertwined with love, religion, the conscious mind, the unconscious mind, psychology, history, music, mores, lessons to be pondered, and Dante. The debate, however, continues, did Gerald drink the water and therefore go mad? Or did society kill him?
