豆腐屋のラッパ
町家が多く残る京都・西陣（京都市上京区）の通りに、少し気が抜けたハーモニカのような音色が響いた。 なじみの客から声をかけられ、高田久邦さん（６０）がリヤカーを止めた。水を張ったおけの中には真っ白な絹ごし豆腐。やさしく手に浮かべ、包丁で、ささっと切り分ける。差し出された鍋の中に入れた豆腐が夕日に輝いた。
