Mangalore: Unprepared for disaster
Mangalore is said to be the fastest growing non-metro in South India, with a population of over four lakh residents, and growing by 20 per cent a year. However, it is a region that has been identified as a moderately earthquake-prone area, and authorities admit that Mangalore lack the resources to counter a natural disaster of the size that hit Japan.
